Chris, a wealthy divorcée, falls in love Sky, a mysterious and beautiful woman, only to be trapped with his ex-wife, Sky, and their child. It is a desperate fight for survival that ensues.
Filming was completed in Montana in June 2021.
The film was released in selected theaters and On Demand January 14, 2022. Blu-ray and DVD versions were released February 22, 2022.
Rotten Tomatoes has 19% positive reviews from 36 critics. The average Rotten Tomatoes review rating is 3.7/10. Metacritic assigns the film a score 27 out 100 based upon 6 critics. This indicates that it has received “generally negative reviews”.
Forbes critic Angela Dawson gave it a positive review. She wrote that “Spanish Filmmaker Luis Prieto Balances income Inequality and Chills In ‘Shattered Thriller.” Variety’s Michael Nordine wrote a negative review of the film and stated, “What follows is a mixture of everything from Misery, Audition, and a lot of both films’ bawdy bravura.”
RogerEbert.com’s Matt Zoller Seitz awarded the film one and half stars. He described it as “a machine that promises certain functions”. The craftsmanship is disappointing.
