Jo Nam-hyeong directs A Superior Day in South Korean television. It stars Jin Goo, Ha Dokwon and Lee Wonkeun. Based on Team Getname webtoons, the series portrays a 24-hour runaway drama in which only the superior survives. In which the most ordinary man must save his kidnapped child from a serial killer, the most ordinary man must die. It airs every Sunday at 22:30 pm (KST) on OCN.

Jin Goo is a familiar face to me in dramas. It has been awhile since I last saw him in dramas. I haven’t watched anything with Jin Goo since Descendant Of The Sun so I thought I would give it a try.
The plot reminded me of 24 and Die Hard with a touch of serial killer. So I expected this drama to be a thrilling ride. The drama is disappointing. I am finding it more frustrating as I watch more episodes. Casting-wise, they did a decent job within the drama’s parameters. However, the writing is not up to my standards.
While the weekly format of the drama aired only one episode per week may have reduced the suspense after each episode, the writing was not able to enhance the overall experience. The writing was ridiculous and I don’t think it would make any difference if you waited to see the next episode.
The whole story felt a bit rushed and unneeded, so drama could have many absurd things happen in a single day. This was unfortunately not true for the drama. If executed correctly, some twists could be quite remarkable. The key scenes were often poorly timed or badly edited. It’s almost as if the writer forgot the title of this drama.
I don’t really care about the drama. Jin Goo is my favorite actor and Ha Dokwon is my favorite actress. I also want to finish the show since it has already ended. This drama is not for you if you’re willing to be frustrated for the duration. If your favourites aren’t in this drama, maybe.
